Working with green-screen images

I finished up taking all of the team and individual pictures for the Westchase Colts this past Friday. Both Friday nights went really smooth. The parents were very happy to be able to get in and out in a timely manner. It made for a stress-free night for everyone.

I've got all the images placed into their correct folders (based on squad) and I'm now getting ready to start placing the kids into team pictures. It's a somewhat tedious process, but this is what I do. The end result is always impressive.

Pretty full weekend

This weekend was pretty full for me. I spent 4:30 - 9:30 Friday night setting up and shooting team and individual images for the Westchase Colts. After about 5 hours of sleep, I was up and getting my stuff ready to shoot 4 youth football games in the Riverview area. Man was it hot.

It's Sunday now and I'm sitting down to get my images (I shot 909 images!) edited and ready for sale on my website.

It'll take me a few days to recover from the sunburn and exhaustion I felt around 5PM Sunday.

High School Contract - Landed!

I received a call tonight letting me know that the local high school's Athletic Director signed off on the deal to make me their contracted sports photographer for the 2008-09 school year! This is pretty big news for me since it means I'll have plenty to do during the weekdays (my work to date has mostly been on weekends).

Tina and I are very happy with the news.

High School Contract - Pt. 2

The high school booster club had their meeting last night to discuss bringing me on as the official sports photographer. Once my name was mentioned a few other parents chimed in with their support of me since they had also purchased images from me in the past.

Long story short, the vote was unanimous.

We're now going to work together to make sure we have a uniform voice to approach the school's athletic director with. If he signs off on this, then it's a done deal.

Possible High School Contract

I received an email out of the blue today from a parent of one of the football players I've photographed in the past. The player has moved on from youth football and into high school, and the parent in question noticed that no one was taking pictures of any of the kids that play sports. She took it upon herself to approach the school's Athletic Director about getting me to become the contracted sports photographer for the school (after asking me via email if I was interested).

That's a pretty good feeling. She had purchased photographs of her son I had taken a season or two ago and liked them so much that she's 'going to bat' for me in an attempt at landing me a shooting contract. That's a pretty good feeling.
